Sapphire

sapphire

This precious blue-violet stone belongs to the group of precious stones corundum, in which with the ruby has the largest share. The most famous is a sapphire of the blue color of cornflowers, but few people know that sapphire is found in the color spectrum of the rainbow, of course except red one, then it is Ruby. Sapphires can be finely yellow, purple, pink or greenish, and these shades make the inclusions of titanium, iron and/or a combination of these elements with chrome.

Gem cutters of precious stones, specifically sapphires, must grind each stone so that the intensive blue bearing is placed at the bottom of the cut stone so that when seen from the top of the stone, this color spills over the stone and the sapphire striping is not visible.

Locations and Occurrence

The world's most well-known deposits of rare sapphires are in southern Asia in countries such as India, Burma, Vietnam, Thailand, and in the small states around, for example, Sri Lanka, Laos, Cambodia. Another major site of Sapphire mining is in Southeast Africa in Tanzania and Zimbabwe. At our e-shop, you can find a wide choice of sapphires like crystals, tumbled stones and jewelry from many exotic countries.

Jewelry with sapphire

Sapphire jewelry is a trendy gift not only because that blue color is the most popular color in most populations but also because sapphire is a traditional stone symbolizing loyalty and sympathy.

Sapphire, as well as other corundums, are often cut and used for jewelry, of course, you can also buy them at our e-shop. Sapphires have a unique feature that they do not have a blue color scattered throughout the stone, but the different intensity of the color is formed by fine stripes.

Sapphires, like Ruby, the other kind of corundum, with crystal shape are matting. Only after polishing (big picture below) or after grinding they get their brilliance. Sapphire crystals mostly come from Tanzania, India or Madagascar. There is a significant feature on the crystals where the blue sapphire color is not dispersed in the crystal, but the varying intensity of the color creates almost negligible stripes. Cut stone in jewelry may not always have a silver selvage, because the sapphire has a high hardness and is therefore very resistant to damage, just like a diamond.

Healing and esoterics

Sapphire brings us wisdom resulting from emotional peace and balance. Sapphire has also previously attributed that purifies the soul from sins. From the beginning of the Middle Ages the sapphire began to engage in the rings of the Roman Catholic parishioners, then the high-ranking church dignitaries, the Cardinals. The force of the sapphire is that it deprives us of illusions and shows us that force can influence our life. Superior power does not mean the nature one, but something like destiny or believing "God's power," and we accept this fate with serenity without grudge and annoyance.

Sapphires give off the purity, which they bring to our mind, our conduct and our speech. This sapphire property is also used as an aid of stuttering when the sapphire is attached to the chakra of the throat, better wearing it all day as a pendant closest to this chakra. Sapphire and other corundums are used to reduce fever, detoxify the body and organs from poisonous substances. Massage of temples with a pebble relieves dizziness and headaches, and we can use this massage in any area where it hurts us, for example in spasms, ulcers or cancers.

How to clean and charge a sapphire

Sapphire is cleaned under a stream of water, and because it is a highly vibrating stone, it also needs a thorough cleaning. The rinsed sapphire is cleaned in a bowl of water together with crystal and we can drink this sapphire water on an empty stomach as it helps to get rid of the body of poisonous substances. Sapphires are only charged in the daylight; excessive sunlight is not beneficial, we can also put it on a crystal drose.
