Haliotis Ruber

Czech name: Leather red
Latin name: Haliotis ruber
Superfamily: Pleurotomarioidea
Family: Haliotidae

Occurrence: Australia
Colour: after grinding pearl

Abalone shells are among the great and mighty mother of pearl shell. Its shell is quite strong, yet lightweight and rounded side of body leads one thread of the thread. The top thread is low and rounded. The entire surface of the shell is flat and relatively smooth, even though they are in some places shells irregular longitudinal grooves and transverse ribs, which give the impression of gross shell. Interestingly abalone are holes that have formed on the rounded edge of the mouth and continue around the perimeter of the thread to the top of the blade. There are several holes in a longitudinal line of succession, sorted from largest to smallest. Since the beginning of the thread holes are stunted and on top form only a tiny bump. The inner side shell has a wide rim that gradually fades and weakens the force estuary. The area inside the shells is also a pearl. Snails that inhabit scallop abalone are firmly attached to the coral and stones on the bottom of the sea in Australia.
