Copal , sometimes referred to as " young amber ", is a fossilized resin originating primarily from tropical regions, including Colombia, where some of the oldest and most beautiful specimens are mined. Unlike classic amber, which is millions of years old, copal is usually several thousand to hundreds of thousands of years old.
